MUHLENBERG FOOTBALL CAMPS | Assistant Coach Kory David

Kory David, a veteran with more than 15 years of coaching experience, including two in the NFL, was hired as interim defensive coordinator for the Muhlenberg football team in the summer of 2017.

David spent the last two years as defensive coordinator at Hobart College, helping the Statesmen to a 16-5 record and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament. In 2015, Hobart ranked in the top 10 in Division III in total defense (sixth, 246.0 yards per game), third-down conversion defense (ninth, .271) and fewest first downs allowed (ninth, 141).

Prior to Hobart, David spent a year apiece as defensive coordinator and secondary coach at Delaware Valley University and King's College. Delaware Valley went 9-2, earned an NCAA at-large berth and ranked 23rd in Division III in sacks per game in 2014, while King's had its best record (6-4) in the last 13 years in 2013.

David was a member of Andy Reid's coaching staff with the Philadelphia Eagles from March 2011 to January 2013, assisting with the linebackers and special teams. His responsibilities included scripting and offensive tendencies of opponents, breaking down opponents' video for the defense and helping prepare and organize practice plans.

Before coaching in the NFL, David spent three seasons as the linebackers coach at Dickinson College and eight seasons on the football staff at SUNY Cortland.

David's coaching career followed a very successful playing career at Cortland. He recorded 259 tackles during his four-year career, twice earning Football Gazette All-East honors at linebacker and leading the Red Dragons to the NCAA playoffs in 1997. He graduated from Cortland in 2000 with a bachelor's degree in physical education.

David's wife, Katie, is football operations coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles.
